Consultation Fees

Medicare offers a partial rebate with an appropriate referral.

• Initial consultation for a single condition: $300.00 (MBS rebate $91.80)
• Subsequent consultation for a single condition: $150.00 (MBS rebate $46.15)
• We do offer a discount for pensioners.

Please note that additional costs may apply depending on the nature of your issue, and recommended treatment plan.

Our team will advise you of your specific consultation fee, when booking and confirming your appointment.

What Do Your Fees Include?

Surgery has out-of-pocket fees.

You'll work with a team of professionals, including your surgeon, an assistant surgeon, anaesthetists, physioatherapists, dietitians and psychologists.

In addition, there may be hospital fees depending on your health insurance policy.

Fee Estimate

All patients will be given an estimate of fees and must give informed financial consent before surgery. Payment is required in full before surgery. We accept all major credit cards and direct bank transfers. We do not offer payment plans. 

Insurance Recommendation

It is strongly recommended that patients wishing to undergo spinal surgery have appropriate private health insurance before surgery. This is often the most economical option for your surgery.

You will need to have a top cover (usually gold or silver) with most of the health funds, as some of the more basic levels of cover, such as extras-only, will not cover spinal surgery.

Contact your health fund to check if you are covered and quote the appropriate item number for your potential surgery. A 12-month waiting period usually applies if you have recently joined a health fund or upgraded your level of cover.

Alternate Fee Strategies

Self-pay is available for very limited select cases. Due to the potential for costs to inadvertently blow-out we do not recommend self-funding except in very rare circumstances or minor procedures such as injections.
